Hickey's Gaze
Unlike Donahue, I think the first shot happened during the time when Zapruder's camera had supposedly stopped, i.e., between the lead motorcyles' filmed by Zapruder and when the presidential limousine appears. In a close-up of the Zapruder film, Hickey can be seen leaning to the left and looking down at the pavement or curb (top left of the picture) by Z-154. (This animated .gif close-up view of the Zapruder film was taken from http://www.mtgriffith.com/web_documents/moreon65fragment.htm. Hickey can be seen on the top left until frame Z-157, bending to his left to peer down at the curb or pavement).

There are anomalies in the frames, which make me feel that these frames are not "out-of-camera original" frames, but altered images. The most obvious anomaly in this animated .gif is the "blip" (splice) between frames 154 and 160, after which both Jackie and Connally can be seen turning to their right. You might also see that the large diamond shaped reflection actually covers Kennedy's face at about Z-150, which it shouldn't do since it supposedly originates from behind him. The anomalies are difficult to see in a fast-moving .gif like this, but I discuss them more in my book.
In the Betzner #2 photograph, Hickey can also be seen looking to the left and down, and SA McIntyre (on the left rear running board with Hickey inside the vehicle to McIntyre's right) can also be seen looking down towards the street or curb on the left.
